Sealing of PBT airbag sensors |

DELO®-KATIOBOND®
for a fully automated process PBT is a technical plastic often used in the automotive industry, which has a good resistance against oil, fuels and many solvents. Its surface is energy-low and therefore a challenge for adhesives. In this case we recommend a suitable surface pretreatment method. One example of a successfully solved application challenge is the sealing of airbag sensors made of PBT. 
To achieve especially short cycle times in the fully automated process, a light-activated adhesive, DELO®-KATIOBOND®, was selected. The adhesive shows very good results after a surface pretreatment of the PBT in a low-pressure plasma:
